Ministry of Works, Transport and Communications wishes to inform the public that the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr.John Beer Joseph Magufuli, is expected to be the guest of honor at the ceremony of the placement of the foundation stone for the construction of the high street (Flyover) at the intersection of TAZARA and the opening of the Kigamboni Bridge in Dar es Salaam.
On Saturday on April 16, 2016 the President will lay the foundation stone to the construction of a road on the road at the junction of Nyerere and Mandela (Flyover of TAZARA).
On Tuesday April 19, 2016 the President will officially open Kigamboni bridge with length of 680 meters and the ramp (approach roads) to the Kurasini and Kigamboni length of 2.5 km. This construction has been made by the Company of China Railway 15th Group partnered with the Bridge Engineering Company of China Group.
Moreover while we wait for the official launch, citizens and vehicles weighing less than 10 tons will be permitted to use starting Saturday Kigamboni Bridge on April 16, 2016 to enable them to understand better the infrastructure and use of the bridge.
Implementation of these projects is one of the Government's efforts to improve miundomninu and reduce traffic congestion in the city of Dar es salaam.
